This piece comprises the design and manufacture of an entire streetscape as a memorial to Tim Parry and Jonathan Ball, two young children killed in 1994 by an IRA bomb attack. Work began in the year of the bombing and was completed in 1996. It was opened by the Duke of Westminster and the Duchess of Kent. An organisation, Children for Peace, was set up in the wake of the bombing and was instrumental in the commissioning of 'River of Life'.

It includes a water fountain, paving design, street furniture and 12 plaques set into the street. Broadbent worked with a number of assistants and incorporated ideas from local children into some of the designs.
