Description: 8 panels suspended by wire from a steel frame between upper and lower sections of the staircase. Each panel has a rectangular frame made from steel with a square cross-section. Scenes cut from metal sheet are welded inside the frames. These scenes show: a colliery; a railway viaduct; a brass band and audience; local hilly landscape and railway; a market; people waiting at a station; dominoes, cards, and a beer mug; people with open mouths surrounding a fan.
