Off Sheldon Row, on the footpath by the River Don - the start of the Five Weirs Walk (A-Z p.5 1G)

Description:
A cross-shaped sculpture to 'house' a poem by Carol Ann Duffy. The mild steel cross encloses a cast bronze surface facing the river. This is composed of the hand-written poem surrounded by grasses and pieces of cutlery and tools with relevance to Sheffield industries. There is a small child's hand cast in glass visible on both faces of the piece.

Commission:
Percent for Art Project for the River Don Bridge, in association with Planning, Transport and Highways, Sheffield City Council.
