Location:
Bradford & Bingley Offices, High Street, S1. Relocated from the entrance to the former Shambles, at roughly the same site, where it stood in a niche on the offices of the Electric Telegraph Company, the home of the Sheffield Independent and the Sheffield Morning Telegraph and The Star. (A-Z p5 3F)

Description:
Nude figure of the 'winged messenger' about 1.5 metres high. He is wearing a winged broad brimmed hat and carries a staff on his left arm, while the right hand points to the sky.

Commission:
Originally commissioned by the Electric Telegraph Company.

Comment:
A second figure, of ‘Vulcan’, also stood on the Electric Telegraph offices. Its present whereabouts are unknown. Other sculptures of Vulcan in the city.
