Victoria Quays, Sheffield
Victoria Quays. At the far end of
the terrace overlooking the Quays and backed by the multi-storey carpark.
(A-Z p5 1H)
A seated cow, looking awkwardly
back over its left shoulder. Its dimensions are: 1.2 x 2.8 x 1.5 metres.
Sited in 1995.
The piece was not commissioned
but was bought by Sheffield Development Corporation after Rae's exhibition
at Nunnery Square, Sheffield (May 1994 - May1995) . The piece was selected
by schoolchildren from the items on show in the Nunnery Square Exhibition
- the details of this process are not yet known to us.
The work seems to be composed
of a series of flat planes.
