Relocated to the Millennium Galleries in 2001



Location:
Originally sited in the Norfolk Street entrance space to the Ruskin Gallery on Norfolk Street.
After the Ruskin Gallery re-located in April 2001 this piece was sited outside the Gallery devoted to the Ruskin Collection in the main thoroughfare through the Millennium Galleries.

Description:
The inscription, 'The Ruskin Gallery/Collection of the Guild of St. George' is embellished with gilded foliage.

Commission:
Sheffield City Council.

Comment:
The size of the two stones necessitated all work being done in situ, the carving by David Kindersley, the gilding by Lida Lopes Carozo (his wife)
