Above the door into the yard at 44 Wellington Street, Sheffield S1 (A-Z p.4 5C)

Description:
Carved into the triangular space above the doorway are the words TRADE and MARK. Between them is a kangaroo; standing and facing to the left.

Commission:
Sorby Roberts and Sons

Comment:
The trademark was that of Sorby Roberts and Sons; merchants and manufacturers of edge tools, saws, knives, shears etc. They also had a business at 2 - 10 Carver Street.
