Millennium Canteen
Wally
Gilbert - Fish Knife and Fork
Handle
ends were made first after making a number
of models in silver and binding wire.
The sides had tapered 950 wire fused to the surface of 925 silver sheet
- both coated in a flash of copper to help fusing. They were then formed
by repousse and soldered to flat sheets. Drilled to release air and soldered
either side of a 1/2 round 'spine' leaving an opening for the blade to be
riveted in.
The blades are 0.8mm in 925 silver with fine 0.35mm wire, hardenable silver
and 950 silver wire fused either side before piercing. The blades then riveted
and oxidised.
Size: 22 cm
