Roe Wood
wood
Location:
Roe Wood, on a slope some distance
from one of the paths through the Park, it is close to Fairbank Road at one
edge of the woods.
(A-Z p87 2F)
Description:
A miniature tree,complete with
leaves carved in relief, can be found amongst its taller neighbours. The
tree was selected as part of woodland clearance in Roe Wood, and cut down
to 6 foot in height before carving.
Commission:
Sheffield Wildlife Trust.
Comment:
Inscription at base reads: 'National
Tree Week Vic 92'. The piece is very difficult to spot because it is so
much a part of the surrounding wood.
