Description:
A winged pig at the top of a 4m high stainless steel column. The pig has a resin body and stainless steel aeroplane wings with propellors. A plaque attached to the pole reads:

"Pigasus
by Johnny White and Amanda Wray
Based on ideas from aphid arts
workshops at local schools and
on the farm. 1998.

Supported by
the National Lottery
through
the Arts Council
of England"

Commission:
Arts for Everyone Express funding.

Comment:
‘The process for developing the ideas behind this piece was a series of workshops with all the local schools and also with groups at the farm. The theme of the workshops was mythological beasts.’ (letter from Aphid Arts to David Ball: 9.11.1998)
