Description:
This piece was unfortunately vandalised not long after completion.
There is an onsite plaque with information relating to the piece.

Commission:
Sheffield Children's Festival, sponsored by GT News, in partnership with Manor and Castle Development Trust.
Officially opened on 2nd July 1998.

An onsite plaque reads:
"Sheffield Children's Festival 1998
Young People from Manor Lodge, Park Hill, Pipworth Junior,
Prince Edward, St John's Park, St Oswald's, St Theresa's,
Waltheof and Wybourn Schools have worked with local artists
Gillian Brent, Jason Thomson, Coralie Turpin and Amanda Wray
to create Queen Mary's Chair, The Mighty Oak, The Turret Room
Ceiling, and Beheaded and Carved in Stone, in partnership with
Manor and Castle Development Trust

Comment:
Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned at Sheffield Manor for some years.
