Botanical Gardens
stone inscription

Location:
On the wall of Curator's House, just inside the Clarkehouse Road entrance, Botanical Gardens (A-Z p98 4B)

Description:
The first of a series of riddles written by Berlie Doherty, and designed to take decipherers on a journey around the Botanical Gardens.

Commission:
Sheffield Botanical Gardens Trust. Part of the Riddle Trail.

Comment:
Originally cut in a stone near the main entrance to the gardens, this was the first piece made for the Trail. The inscription was damaged by a nearby tree so in 2004 it was cut again and attached to the wall of the cafe.
